The Uncanny X-Men #142 Days Of Future Past, Feb 1981, 6.5 to 7.5 (FN+ to VF-) For Sale

This is an incredible issue of The Uncanny X-Men #142, featuring the iconic storyline of Days of Future Past. The comic was published in February 1981 by Marvel Comics and is a must-have for any collector or fan of US Comics. The issue is in a single unit format and is a first edition, making it a true gem for collectors.

Condition. This comic grades between 6.5 and 7.5 (FN+ to VF-) and is a solid addition for many collections. It has been in my personal collection for more than 20 years.

The cover is flat and retains most, if not all of its original gloss. There are no tears or holes of any kind. The colors are fantastic, bright, and vivid. The corners are square with just the slightest of rounding. There is a small break in the color in the upper right front corner. The spine is tight and strong. There are 7-8 small spine creases that break color (see pics). There’s a bit of ink smudge along the spine which is common with this issue. The staples are tight and metallic in color though they have lost their shine.

Many here on would grade this in the 8.0 to 9.0 range but I’m a really discerning collector with a lot of grade experience. Purchasing this at the 6.5 to 7.5 range will likely leave you very happy when the book arrives.

The comic features the X-Men superhero team, including Wolverine, and is signed by Chris Claremont, the artist/writer. The cover art is by John Byrne. This comic is a key issue and is a part of the Bronze Age (1970-83) era of comics. It is perfect for anyone who loves superheroes and is interested in vintage comic books.
