In this recently turned 20-year-old program, it starts with a cab ride on an F unit from South Acton to Boston’s North Station on the minute man, which includes crossing under the Trolley route in Waverly. This line is now owned by the MBTA Commuter Rail system known as the Wachusett line.

The area in & around North Station has since been dramatically changed over the decades.

On one scene, Future Famous Surviving B&M Mogul 1455 departs North Station, & at one time after these films were recorded, the engine used to be on Display at Steamtown USA in Vermont, & now it resides in Danbury Connecticut near the New York State Line.

Moving onto New Hampshire, a cab ride aboard an E7 to Woodsville & back is included, followed by another cab ride, this time on the Hoosac Tunnel line from East Deerfield Yard to North Adams. The Hoosac Tunnel is now owned by Norfolk Southern.

Next, Another Cab Ride is included, this time it’s from Albany New York to North Adams on the Adams branch.

The next route is the CT River line from Springfield to Brattleboro Vermont with a stop at Claremont depot. There are also lots of winter scenes, including one at Whitefield NH with a Highball Signal that is now on the rare mileage tracks of the Conway Scenic railroad.

NYC detour trains are also in the bay state as it heads for Deerfield, followed by a look at Woburn which most of the tracks are owned by the MBTA’s Lowell line, & the Downeaster. The Woburn Loop was abandoned after 1981.

Next, a cab ride to Clinton & back is included, followed by a cab ride on a steamer to Boston, plus a look at Gardner, Springfield, Greenfield, Northampton, & more action on the Hoosac tunnel line. NYC 4396 appeared while being towed by an electric. Later, there is a fan trip in 1938.

Back in the Boston area, a 4-4-0 is in Saugus on a local, followed by more action at North Station, with an appearance by a Rock Island unit visiting MA.

All of these films were recorded by Mr. Donald Robinson.
