Vintage 1930s Gillette Short Comb New Double Edge Safety Razor.

The head and cap on this Short Comb New are absolutely gorgeous and still have 99% of the original gold plating. Teeth are all straight, but there are two small dots on the top cap of what I'm assuming are red bras peeking through.

I'm only really including the handle for the sake of completeness, as it's got several cracks and plating loss. Surprisingly, despite the cracks, it's still sturdy. There's no give or wiggle. I suspect it's been glued or otherwise repaired at some point in the past.

!!THIS IS THE EARLIER VERSION THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE WIDER BASEPLATE CUTOUTS TO ACCOMMODATE HANDLES WITH LARGER NECKS!!

I didn't boil the head or top cap since these were lacquered originally to preserve the gold, but I did scrub it with a toothbrush in hot water and dawn, and then polished with a jeweler's cloth.
